ARTWEAR by ROBBIE  handcrafted handbags, established in 1998 in Brooklyn, NY. All the bags are currently handmade in our Pilsen studio located in Chicago, IL. 

The design and construction of our bags incorporate wet- or heat-formed leather shapes and hand-carved embossed surface designs. Nature, art, sculpture, ethnic masks, and the beautiful colors of the Caribbean islands influence our designs.

The leather used to make the bags is selected for its quality, color, and texture. Each handbag is one-of-a-kind, with its own color and texture combinations, and is individually signed.

"The Robbie Bag" has received national recognition. It has stood out in art shows, museum shops, and galleries around the country. The bag is featured in prestigious places, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum Shop, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It has also gained attention at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, and the One-of-a-Kind Show in Chicago.

We are proud of the awards it has won, including "Best of Show" for Fiber at the Metris Uptown Art Fair in Minnesota and the St. James Art Show in Kentucky. The bag has also impressed crowds at the Four Bridges Art Show in Chattanooga and the 57th Street Art Festival in Chicago. Exciting times are ahead for "The Robbie Bag"!
